Americans like to be different from the rest of the world and the World Cup football (excuse me!! Soccer) tournament in progress, I found it interesting how the TV commentary differs from what I am normally used to. Some of the terms used are described below

Soccer - the rest of the world calls it Football but Americans call it Soccer. The term football is used for the sport of American Football.
Double Team - A term derived from basketball, where two players corner or defend one player. I dont think there is an equivalent term in football.

I came across this image of a young George Bush and the first thing that crossed my mind was Alfred E Neumann from Mad Comics. Maybe its just me or does anyone else see the resemblence?

Paris Hilton to play Mother Teresa?

I recently read in the news that Paris Hilton may be chosen to play the role of Mother Teresa in an upcoming movie role. Its the funniest thing that I have heard in a long time. What was even funnier was the justification for choosing her. Apparently the fact that she refused to pose for Playboy Magazine impressed the director. The fact that there are videos of her floating around was not an issue for the director. Maybe he viewed them as the tapes that showed her acting talent.

Well, thanks to our Miss "Social Service" Universe and Miss "Social Service" World contentants, Mother Teresa must be turning in her grave. With this new annoucement, I think she will come back to life.

For a lot of us who have grown up in Mumbai, the mention of the word "Frankie" probably evokes a lot of memories. Going to Shivaji Park and eating a Mutton Frankie was part of my life growing up in Mumbai. Tibbs Frankie was probably available only in Mumbai and this time, I was pleasantly surprised to see a Tibbs Frankie Stall at FoodWorld on MG Road in Bangalore.

So what is the Tibbs Frankie?
