Vruksha Logo - Design and History
|
Vruksha The Charities is a group of not-for-profit organisations in India started by a group of likeminded professionals committed to the cause of humanitarian and environmental concerns. Couple of charities and foundations were founded by Vruksha. The organisations are active across a broad range of areas including opportunity and enterprise, education, health, the built environment, responsible business, the natural environment and the arts. The charities reflect INDIA€™s long-term and innovative perspective, and seek to address areas of previously unmet need. I stumbled upon the site one day and was intrigued by the logo. The meaning behind the logo was described to me by Suresh and is shown below. |
- The Blue Color represents Vruksha's trustworthiness and commitment. It also represents Health, peace, and dream.
- The Yellow color represents Hope and Happiness giving to the deserved people. Yellow is sunshine. On the one hand it denotes Happiness and joy. Yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness and yellow carry the promise of a positive future.
- The two people who are in the form of Trunk represents the people who are deserved.
- The green Shade represents that it is providing Hope and happiness to those people who are in need, on the other hand
the green color also represents the environmental concerns and protection
Delta Airlines Logo - Design and History
|
Delta Air Lines, is a major United States airline headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia that operates an expansive domestic and international network, spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. In terms of passengers carried (approximately 119 million in 2005),Delta is the second-largest airline in the world (behind American Airlines). The current Delta Airlines logo is a comprises of two 3-dimensional triangles representing a larger triangle with the world DELTA next to it. The logo's origins can be traced back to 1959 logo which was the first time, the design was introduced. The logo (also called the widget) was inspired by the swept-wing design of the DC-8 airplanes. The red, white and blue represented the colors of the American flag. The logo has undergone some changes over the years with the the logo being placed sideways, made softer etc, but the current logo is probably the most significant change with the introduction of the solid red color. The 3-dimensional red widget logo reflects Delta's successful transformation into a highly-differentiated, customer-focused airline |
KFC Logos - Design and History
KFC, also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky, known mainly for its fried chicken. Since 2002 KFC has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc.The company was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders in 1952, with the abbreviated form of its name adopted in 1991. The colonel has always been a part of the KFC logo. In the early years, you can see him to have a more serious face but over time, you can see that his face has become more friendly. Also, the red color in the logo has given the logo a more bold and lively look. In April 2007, KFC unveiled their current logo in which the Colonel shed his white suit jacket for a red cook's apron. The new logo includes bolder colors and a more well-defined visage of the late Kentucky Fried Chicken founder, who will keep his classic black bow tie, glasses and goatee. The logo is changing for only the fourth time in 50 years, and for the first time in nearly a decade. The smiling Colonel is featured against a red background that matches his red apron, with the KFC brand name in black thick lettering under his chin. |
WWF Logo - Design and History
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is an international non-governmental organization for the conservation, research and restoration of the natural environment, formerly named the World Wildlife Fund, which remains its official name in the United States and Canada. It is the world's largest independent conservation organisation with over 5 million supporters worldwide, working in more than 90 countries, supporting 15,000 conservation and environmental projects around the world. It is a charity, with approximately 90% of its funding coming from voluntary donations by private individuals and businesses. WWF€™s world renowned panda logo was designed by its founder chairman, the naturalist and painter Sir Peter Scott, in 1961. It was then that WWF-UK, the first national organisation in the WWF international network, was started. The WWF logo has an immensely appealing and positive image, which is seen as caring, responsible and credible. This in turn means an inherent emotional and commercial value is attached to the use of the logo, reflecting their appeal and values. |
Sound Logo or Sound Branding
I am personally intrigued by logos and as you can see, a large part of my site is dedicated to discovering the design and history of logos. To me, logos were always a visual thing and I guess I never paid attention to the concept of sound logos (though sound branding seems more appropriate). Looking back, my first recollection of a sound logo was the little piece of music that accompanied the Intel Logo. Whenever you see any commerical for a computer, it would always be accompanied by the Intel logo and a little sound theme at the end. |
Starting November 1st, 2007, Mercedes-Benz will be introducing a new sound logo that will accompany its commercials. The Mercedes-Benz sound logo is based on an original recording of an English boys choir from the 1990s. Sound engineers extracted a choir boy€™s solo vocal from the recording and adapted it for use in the sound logo. The logo was developed in cooperation with Jung von Matt, Mercedes-Benz€™ lead agency.
Benz Sound Logo - You can listen to the Benz sound logo at the end of the commerical on YouTube.
Intel Sound Logo - You can listen to the Intel sound logo here on YouTube.
Sound branding is also called audio branding, sonic branding, acoustic branding or sonic mnemonics.
